Jorge L. Quijano

Founder & President

Born and raised in Laredo, TX, Jorge received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communication and a minor in Marketing (cum laude) from Texas A&M International University in Spring 2009.

He currently works as the Marketing Manager for the ASM Global managed Sames Auto Arena & Uni-Trade Stadium. Before joining ASM Global, he worked for the Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association (WBCA) as the Marketing & Publicity Coordinator from 2012-2014.

Jorge’s greatest accomplishment at the Sames Auto Arena was bringing home, for the first time, a Marketing Award for Best Event Promotion in June 2017. Jorge’s list of hobbies and interests goes on and on, but he mostly enjoys photography, theatre, karaoke, dancing, and giving a helping hand to other local nonprofit organizations. He is ecstatic to continue sharing his knowledge and experience with the TAMIU Alumni Association in executing its mission while also inspiring current students as the President-Elect

Board Member

Born in Mexico, Mayra moved to Laredo, Texas at a very young age with her family. She is an Alumnus of Texas A&M International University where she obtained her BS in Criminal Justice, class of 2009. She has worked with various court systems for the past 19 years and is currently employed with the United States Federal Court in the capacity of Judicial Support Specialist where she has excelled for over 11 years. Mayra is a strong believer in “work hard; play hard” and as such she is an avid traveler, enjoys staying active, but most of all loves spending time with family and friends socializing.
