We are a non-profit organization that will educate and unite the diverse communities of Laredo to further promote better understanding and support among the members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
About Us
Mission & Vision
Gateway City Pride Association is the premier link to the Laredo LGBTQIA+ and allied community. Together, we will celebrate the strength and diversity of our communities to foster an increased sense of well-being in the lives we touch.
The Association will educate and unite the diverse communities of Laredo to further promote better understanding and support among the members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
Furthermore, the Association will honor the LGBTQIA+ movement by commemorating the Stonewall Rally along with other historical events and inspirational figures.
This Association is organized exclusively for charitable and/or educational purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization will not engage in political or legislative activities prohibited under section 501(c)(3).

Transgender Day of Remembrance & Ally Awards
On Saturday, November 20, 2021, organizations observed Transgender Day of Remembrance and honored local LGBTQ+ allies with awards. This event was hosted by Gateway City Pride Association (GCPA) and the Laredo Film Society (LFS) at the LFS office by the Laredo Center of the Arts.
ALLY Sticker Unveiled on World AIDS Day at the PILLAR Office
On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, PILLAR unveiled the ALLY Sticker for local businesses to display at their entrance to welcome diversity and show support for the LGBTQ+ Community. Gateway City Pride Secretary Mark Nix was a guest speaker at this event.
History is Made as City Proclaims June as PRIDE Month
June 10, 2021 will forever be a historical milestone as the City of Laredo presented a first ever City Proclamation to our LGBTQIA+ community in recognizing June as PRIDE Month with Gateway City Pride Association along with other organizations PILLAR, Equality Texas and more.
Meet Our Board
Our board of directors focus on the nonprofit organization’s mission. Our primary duties are working on strategy, setting goals and objectives, overseeing programs and activities, and actively managing risks.
We meet on a monthly basis to coordinate special events and fundraisers throughout the year in order to advocate for our local LGBTQIA+ Community.
This is no easy task but with your support, we can accomplish more for this city we call home⦠Laredo!
